About Us

With the culmination of three decades experience in the Aviation Industry, Aviation Advisor, Inc. was founded in 2000 to become the aircraft management and private charter service of choice. Beginning with one jet owner and two pilots, the enterprise has grown to a multi-base flight operation with a new fleet of impeccably maintained business jets backed by world-class service levels. Relentless focus on client relationship, client service and quality has enabled Aviation Advisor to experience a slow, steady growth pattern with exceptional client retention rates. While we welcome new business, we are proud to say that we still service our original client.

Saul B. Thompson is the founder of Aviation Advisor, Inc. In his role as President, Saul draws on 3 decades of business and military aviation expertise to deliver exceptional programs, service levels and experiences to all aircraft management, aircraft charter and consulting clients. Saul served in the U.S. military where he became a test pilot for various types of military aircraft including experimental models. During his service, Saul achieved both advanced aircraft and special operations qualifications and directed Joint Service Special operations programs. Saul has been involved internationally in aircraft operations and leasing since leaving the military. He also directed one of the largest diversified aviation services companies in the Midwest. The operation consisted of 115 associates, held FAA Part 135 and Part 91 aircraft management certifications, operated 18 turbine powered aircraft ranging from a Cessna Citation© light jet to a Falcon 900© wide-body executive jet and featured a Part 145 repair station specializing in helicopters and business jet aircraft. As an architect in building this operation, Saul commanded a multi-million dollar budget, purchased and integrated two FBO’s, conducted strategic business acquisitions and developed airport real estate. In 2000, Saul took the best practices developed over 3 decades in aviation and forged a new aircraft management, executive charter and consulting company known as Aviation Advisor, Inc. Today, Saul leads what has become the industry standard for private aviation management and services. Saul is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. in Professional Aeronautics. Saul has completed numerous specialized training courses both in the military and civilian sectors. Saul is type rated in multiple aircraft and helicopters and is also seaplane rated.  

Paul F. Baron

Paul Baron is a 25,000 hour Airline Transport Pilot with 35 years of flight experience Paul has numerous type ratings including the Cessna CE-525S (Citation CJ Series), CE-680 (Citation Sovereign) and CE-750 (Citation X). Paul is also a designated company Check Airman. Prior to joining Aviation Advisor, Paul held management positions with a fortune 500 flight department. Paul is an avid member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and a licensed airframe and powerplant mechanic. Paul attended Western Michigan University.

Eric is a 4,900 hour Airline Transport Pilot with 13 years of flight experience. In addition to being a Certified Flight Instructor, Eric is type rated in the CE525S (Citation Jet Single Pilot) and CE750 (Citation X). As Chief Pilot, he is responsible for managing flight crews and aircraft, overseeing crew training curriculum and scheduling, and developing company manuals. He works closely with the Director of Operations and FAA to ensure that our operating policies are consistent with the highest of safety guidelines and helps to disseminate these policies to the flight crews. Prior to joining Aviation Advisor, Eric was a charter captain for a central Wisconsin and then a northern Michigan charter operator. Eric graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.

Murt Dempsey Aviation Advisor

Prior to joining Aviation Advisor, Murtagh Dempsey was a founder and principal partner of a private aviation brokerage and consultancy firm based in Lake Forest, Illinois. During this time, Murtagh developed a substantial client base through the delivery of value-added private aviation programs. Before the launch of his company, Murtagh developed a solid foundation for quality during his 15 year career at Xerox Corporation©. During his tenure at Xerox, he held 3 different sales and marketing positions, achieved multiple President's Club awards and participated with his fellow associates in the twice pursuit and capture of the Malcolm Baldrige U.S. National Quality Award (1989 & 1997) In his dual roles at Aviation Advisor, Murtagh is responsible for delivering new charter and aircraft management contracts, as well as, branding and corporate identity development. Murtagh is a member of the National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) and obtained a BS degree in Management and English from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York.

Katie joined Aviation Advisor in 2006 after receiving her BS in Aeronautical Studies from Western Michigan University. During her time at Western, she earned her commercial-instrument, multiengine and flight instructor (CFI) ratings eventually working for the University on staff as a CFI. In her role as Director of Charter Sales, Katie is the daily interface with all Aviation Advisor charter clients and aircraft owners in scheduling aircraft and crew members.
